LETTER FROM STEVE TO HIS FANS
Hi Stephen here,
Today, I want to thank all the fans who have given me support
this week.
I have seen and heard your messages in the newspapers and on the
radio and TV and you will never know how much your kindness and
understanding means to me.
As you can imagine, I had to go through a lot of heartache over
this. I had to do a very difficult thing by telling the world
about my private life. But at the end of the day, this is my life
and I need to be happy too.
I know that you want me to be happy and that is why you accept me
as I am, judging by what you have said in the media this week.
I realise that there are fans who will feel disappointed and
perhaps, a bit sad. I would be upset to hear that, and I want you
to know that you are in my thoughts.
Please believe me that the way I feel about all the wonderful
people who have supported Boyzone and myself for six years hasn't
changed in anyway.
I am still the same Stephen you always knew. Just because I have
a private life and a personal life doesn't make me any different.
We all have to make hard decisions in this life and, believe me,
this is the most difficult thing I have ever had to do. I just
ask now for your love and understanding.
I am still fully committed to Boyzone and Ronan, Keith, Shane and
Mikey are the best friends anyone could have.
We all turn to each other when we're in trouble and they have
been giving me support in recent weeks.
They are all very happy in their own lives and they want me to be
happy as well.
Now that I have accepted things in my life and told people about
my private affairs, I hope I will be allowed to be myself and to
enjoy my life and the success that has come with Boyzone.
I hope that you will be with me every step of the way in the
future, whether it's with Boyzone or in my solo career.
