BRAVE STEPHEN IN A GAYZONE

BRAVE Boyzone star Stephen Gately completed his sensational
"coming
out" with a hero's reception at a gay nightclub. But the
singer appears to have
become the gay equivalent of Tom Jones as fans bombarded him with
flowers, gifts. . . and even pants. Boyzone performed their live
set at
the Saturday club night n London's Astoria. The group agreed to
appear at the
G.A.Y night as a show of support for Stephen. A concert organiser
gushed: "He was
very brave in coming out. He and Boyzone were really looking
forward
to the performance. The band wanted to show their support and so
did the
audience. It was a big celebration." G.A.Y has proved a
favourite venue
for pop acts, with Geri Halliwell launching her solo act there
and disco
diva Donna Summer using it to relaunch her career.
